I didn't have a Sportfishing trip today out of Quepos Costa Rica, So I took a trip to a near by waterfall. This is Nauyaca Falls, Also none as santo cristo falls. It is about an hour ride from Quepos down the dirt road towards Dominical. Just before you get into Dominical the road becomes paved and you hang a left. And Head up the mountain. About 15-20 minutes and the entrance to the trail for the falls will be on the right. It cost's about $5 or so for entrance amd parking, you can also pay about $35 to take a horseback ride down to the falls. (THis is recommended if your not in good shape) If you decide to walk, which I have done 5 times, expect about a 1 1/2 hour walk in each direction on some rough and steap terrain. There are a couple river crossing's but in the dry season its barely knee deep. Or you can take the long way and go over the bridge. Once you get there it is a beautiful site with a large swimming pool at the base of the falls. It is wellDeep sea fishing in Costa Rica is not something new, however there are just a few deep sea fishing boats, Captains and Guides per area that have the right gear and lures to really be worth your while to go deep jigging in Costa Rica
